You can take a bus or take a train earlier from Bangkok to Aranyaprathet then find a TukTuk or pickup truck from station to Poipet Border. Also it’s safe to walk out of Loung Koue market in Thailand to cross the border to Poipet in Cambodia.
POIPET BORDER TO BATTAMBANG
Most travelers who enter Cambodia from Thailand by taxi will cross the Poipet border then Battambang. Once on this route, the first stop on the tourist circuit is Battambang, Cambodia’s second largest city. Battambang is a sleepy city set on the banks of the Sangker River. Tourists can continue thier trip from Battambang by boat or Taxi to Siem Reap.
It is famous for its French Colonial architecture, Mountaintop of Banan temples and as being the place where tourists in Cambodia can ride the Bamboo train, called the Norry locally, Phnom Sompov Mountain ( Bat Cave, Killing Cave, Golden temple..). It is also less than 100 km away from Siem Reap and the world famous Angkor Wat.
